In Conversation With…Visiting Topics in EDI in Research & Innovation is a series of discussions with experts at University of Toronto on how to embed best practices and strategic EDI approaches within the research and innovation ecosystem. Each session will be hosted by Dr. Nicole Kaniki, the inaugural Director of EDI in Research and Innovation, and she will be joined by guests from across the tri-campus for these conversations.

Session 1: In Conversation with... 
Prof. Christine Allen, Associate Vice-President and Vice-Provost, Strategic Initiatives.

Drs. Nicole Kaniki and Christine Allen will discuss the purpose for the creation of the office of EDI in Research and Innovation and what the mandate and potential future of EDI in Research and Innovation will look like at the University of Toronto. They will explore the internal and external challenges and barriers to EDI in research and innovation and talk about the approaches the Office of Vice President Research and Innovation (OVPRI) will take to address the issues and support the work.  

Attendees are invited to join the conversation by sharing your ideas, candid questions, expertise, successes and strategies!
