Description

Join Climate Positive Energy for our first Research Perspectives, bringing together student and PDF researchers to share their work around a common theme. Researchers across disciplines and the tri-campus are working on essential climate topics, with a diverse set of points of views and perspectives. Many of us are up to date on the state-of-the-art research in our own fields but have little opportunity to connect with work being done outside of our disciplines and campus.

Our theme this month is Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (CCUS). CCUS technology is getting a lot of attention, as an exciting tool on the road to net-zero. Many have concerns about the cost and feasibility of CCUS technology. At the same time, exciting progress in improving the efficiency and cost of CCUS technology is being led by researchers at U of T. What is the right place for CCUS in the energy transition? What is the state-of-the-art in CCUS technology research and where is it headed? Learn what U of T student researchers are doing to answer these questions and more, on May 26th

Angel Badewole: Life cycle assessment of CO2 conversion to ethylene oxide

Celine Xiao: Direct Conversion and Electrochemical Regeneration of CO2 Capture Fluids

Mircea Ghergina: Capturing Carbon: Innovation, Values, and the Emergence of a Clean Technology, 1996-2021

Tiange Yuan: A new route for converting CO2 into valuable products through C-N coupling.

Emma Wang: Climate disclosure and carbon accounting
