In Conversation With…Visiting Topics in EDI in Research & Innovation is a series of discussions with experts at University of Toronto on how to embed best practices and strategic EDI approaches within the research and innovation ecosystem. Each session will be hosted by Dr. Nicole Kaniki, the inaugural Director of EDI in Research and Innovation, and she will be joined by guests from across the tri-campus for these conversations.
Session 3 - In Conversation: Perspectives on Gender, Sex, and Race in Clinical Practice and Research
In this session Dr. Nicole Kaniki will have a conversation with Gagandeep Singh, an undergraduate MD trainee whose research interests consider the lived experiences of gender variant and racialized communities, as well as building communities of practice amongst researchers and clinicians. They will review challenges and barriers to equitable care for gender and racial minorities and methodologic considerations to improve inclusivity in research design and outcome reporting.- Additional Information
