Getting Ready for Teaching in Fall 2026: Tools and Resources for Teaching with Programming

Instructors teaching in the Faculty of Arts & Science are invited to learn about the tools, resources, and supports available for incorporating programming assessments into coursework. Through demonstrations and practical examples, participants will learn how the University’s JupyterHub platform supports Python- and R-based instruction, including the use of Jupyter Notebooks and RStudio in a cloud-based environment. The session will also introduce MarkUs and demonstrate how it can streamline the submission, grading, and management of programming assignments. Finally, participants will gain an overview of the Computation & Data Science Education initiative and the resources available to help faculty integrate programming and computational techniques into courses across disciplines.
