Description

Instructors teaching in Arts & Science are invited to join the upcoming Lunch & Learn, Critical Reading in Small, Medium and Large Courses. While strategies for fostering critical reading are often framed as applicable across different class sizes, instructors report encountering issues when trying to scale reading in their specific course contexts. How to scale critical reading therefore remains a pressing pedagogical question. Building on the learnings gathered at the 2025-2026 Teaching & Learning Showcase, and feedback from 1:1 pedagogical consultations and conversations with instructors, this session will share effective strategies for fostering critical reading in classes of any size.

This session is Part 1 of a series of two Lunch & Learns on the theme of reading and writing in small, medium and large courses. Part 2 focuses on Promoting Writing in Small, Medium and Large Courses.
